DIY Dry Erase Board

Just wanted to share a fun project I finished up recently. I decided to make a coordinating dry erase board to hang above the computer in my kitchen. Here's what I did.

I took an old frame (with the glass), a piece of luan plywood and a large piece of fabric left over from the curtains I made for my kitchen. First, I painted the frame in a semi gloss black and then cut the fabric and luan board to fit inside the frame. I used spray adhesive to glue the fabric to the board. Before I reassembled the pieces, I added a vinyl adhesive monogram to the lower right corner. I cut out a flipped version of the image and attached the monogram to the glass on the inside so it wouldn't peel off when you clean the board. We also decided to use duct tape to attach the board to the frame so we could have the option to change the fabric later on.

Here's the end result...

It was a fun quick project that I was fortunate enough to have nearly everything to make it already at my house. Just goes to show how much unused craft stuff I have lying around! Now I can take the little dry erase board off the fridge and keep my important notes on a cute coordinating board by my desk.
